Bronson Drilling provides shallow, dry horizontal boring services with depths of up to approximately 2’ and lengths to approximately 25’. This can be used in utility crossings, for instance to pass an electrical or irrigation line under a driveway, or for environmental assessment and remediation. One use we have pioneered is installing soil vapor points under a slab-on-grade foundation, from the outside of the building. A soil vapor point can be installed without penetrating the floor and sampled from the exterior. Horizontal boring can also be used to install remediation systems, for instance using a horizontal well screen to feed an oxidant over a large area, or for vapor extraction.
